Looks like the VOICE chapter at the University of Tennessee is doing great at promoting our profession with their DRIVE program (Diversity Recruiting In Veterinary Medicine)! I would like to challenge all the other chapters to host at least one outreach event for the '07-'08 school year.
So far the DRVE program is off to a good start. We hope to upload some photos from out recent trip to Sterchi Elementary School. We presented infomation about Veterinary Medicine to 3rd and 4th graders. The College's photographer came out the document the event. Later in the semester we hope to get the High School portion of the program up and running. Development of a study to access the Attitudes of Adolescence Towards Veterinary Medicine is coming soon. The Pre-Vet portion of this program is being developed and will begin next semester.
