After-school programming - It is so powerful to influence youth at an early age and convey the idea that veterinary medicine is an exciting, fun, dynamic and respectable field! VOICE promotes a the field of veterinary medicine and encourages disadvantaged youth through visits to schools and community centers.
Disaster Relief Supply Drives - Post-Hurricane Katrina we contacted grassroots organizations in New Orleans and asked what types of supplies they were in need of so that we could collect. The Cornell VOICE chapter collected donations that were shipped to New Orleans. One student, Ranetta Perkins, went to New Orleans this past spring (2007) to do volunteer work.
